Mr. Rohan requested that the public hearing on Ordinance 2008-594 authorizing a contract for private operation of the Brewer Early Learning Center be opened and continued to the next meeting rather than opened and closed.  He also stated that a floor substitute would be offered for the bill, which should then be re-referred to committee.  Finally, Mr. Rohan stated that Ordinance 2008-682 amending the Ordinance Code to address distribution of food to the homeless would not be taken up as an emergency on first reading tonight but would go through one committee cycle before Council action will be requested.
