Conrad Markle representing
Concerned Taxpayers of Duval County addressed the committee regarding 2010-616
(restoring an Ethics Code in the City Charter).
His group is opposed to the portion of the Finance Committee’s amendment
from the previous meeting that concerned the independence of the Ethics Officer
and Ethics Commission. He urged maximum
transparency of government operations and the ability of the Ethics Officer and
Commission to serve as public watchdogs.
