Meeting Convened: 9:30 a.m.
Chairman Bishop convened the
meeting and reviewed the marked agenda, which included 2 items to be deferred,
13 items ready for action (1 for withdrawal, 1 as an emergency) and 11 items
for second reading and re-referral.
2011-89 (appropriation of
$30,000 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade) will be taken up if Council
Member Brown is present.
2011-726 (waiver of Ordinance
Code to allow employees temporarily acting as department heads and division
chiefs to exceed the 60 day limit for temporary appointment) is being requested
for emergency action by the administration.
2011-732 (administrative
reorganization): Chairman Bishop will encourage all committee members to study
this bill in great detail and to meet with members of the administration and/or
call noticed meetings with other council members to get all questions answered
on this very important bill.
