CITY COUNCIL AGENDA MEETING MINUTES


January 10, 2012

Meeting Convened:  4:03 p.m.

 

Council President Joost convened the meeting and asked the committee chairs to report their committee actions.

 

Rules Committee: Council Member Bishop reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

 

TEU Committee: Council Member Anderson reported that all of the committee’s actions were previously covered.

 

RCDPHS Committee: Council Member Gulliford reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

 

Finance Committee: Council Member Jones reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting. 

LUZ Committee: Council Member Brown reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

 

With regard to 2011-89 (appropriating $30,000 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade expenses) Council Member Brown stated that the Mayor has announced that he has secured private donations that, along with City fee waivers, will cover the cost of the parade expenses requested by the ordinance.  Mr. Brown requested that the bill not be discharged tonight and remain in committee where a motion to withdraw will be made.

 

Council Member Jones requested that 2011-731 (authorizing joint use agreement for North Riverside Community Center) be postponed to the next Council meeting to give the attorney for North Riverside CDC an opportunity to review changes made in committee.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 4:09 p.m.
