The Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m. and reviewed the Council Auditor’s marked agenda which included 4 items marked for deferral, 16 items ready for action (1 marked for withdrawal, 1 to be substituted and re-referred) and 6 items marked for second reading and re-referral.

 

2012-659 (authorizing Housing Finance Authority to request $40 million bond allocation from the state bond pool) and 2012-683 (authorizing JHFA to initiate $15 million mortgage credit certificate program): Wight Greger, JHFA board member and Mark Hendrickson, JHFA’s financial consultant, will be present to discuss and answer questions.

 

2012-710 (authorizing lease agreement for City building on Old Plank Road): Peggy Sidman believes that the sponsor, Council Member Carter, is planning on asking for deferral of the item.  She will check with him before the meeting to verify.

 

Jessica Deal reported that the administration’s first Transfer Directive Report will be transmitted to the Council Auditor’s Office today and to the full City Council tomorrow.  She also noted that Mayor Brown will be speaking to the Duval Legislative Delegation’s organizational meeting tomorrow afternoon in support of the City’s J-bill to change the appointment mechanism for one of the seats on the Police and Fire Pension Fund board of trustees, and any additional support from Council Members will be very helpful
