LUZ COMMITTEE AGENDA MEETING MINUTES -
AMENDED
October 1, 2013
1:00 p.m.
City Council Conference Room A
Suite 425, City Hall
117 West Duval Street
Attendance: Council Members Lori Boyer (Chair), Jim Love, Matt
Schellenberg and Don Redman
Also: Jason
Gabriel – Office of General Counsel; Phillip Zamarron – Legislative Services
Division
See attached sign-in sheet
for additional attendees.
Chairwoman Boyer called the
meeting to order at 1:09 p.m. and reviewed the marked agenda which contained 6
items marked for deferral, 5 items ready for action, 14 public hearings to be
opened and continued, and 36 items for second reading and re-referral.
2012-657/720 (Bostwick Building demolition appeal/historic designation):
the committee will be asked to decide whether to grant one or more additional
deferrals or take action on the bills. A
lawsuit between the current owners of the building and the owner of the
adjacent building regarding water intrusion issues is still not settled and is
holding up the transaction. The DIA
staff and board are going to get involved in an attempt to bring a positive
resolution.
2013-5 (rezoning on Shindler Drive): the applicant has requested withdrawal of
the item.
2013-474 (rezoning on Aladdin
Road): the public hearing will be opened and continued to 11.19.13.
2013-604 (withdrawal of an
application for small-scale land use amendment with refund of fees): the bill
was deferred in the Rules Committee yesterday, but the Chair plans to move to
take action in LUZ tonight.
2013-623/624 (land use
amendment and rezoning on Oak Bluff Lane): the applicant requests that the
public hearing be opened and continue until at least 11.19.13.
Ms. Boyer noted that an LUZ
Workshop will be held at 4:30 to discuss the information package mailed out to
properties within 350 feet of a small scale land use change proposal. She plans to meet with Planning and
Development Director Calvin Burney and with Chief of Community Planning Gary
Kresel to discuss potential changes to the existing process.
There being no further
business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:19 p.m.
