LUZ COMMITTEE
AGENDA MEETING MINUTES
April 2, 2012
1:00 p.m.
City Council Conference Room A
117 West Duval Street
Attendance: Council Members Lori Boyer (Chair) and Don Redman
Also: Dylan Reingold - Office of General Counsel; Folks Huxford, Gary Kresel and Paul Davis – Planning and Development Department; Connie Holt and Scott Wilson – ECAs; Jeff Clements – Council Research Division; Philip Zamarron – Legislative Services Division
Chairwoman Boyer called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. and Dylan Reingold reviewed the marked agenda which contained 4 items marked for deferral, 5 items ready for action, 7 public hearings to be opened and continued, and 4 items for second reading and re-referral.
2012-62 and -63 (land use amendment and rezoning on Old Middleburg Road North): Chairwoman Boyer understands that the neighborhood has agreed in principle to a settlement with the applicant that should be signed shortly. When that signing occurs these bills will be withdrawn.
2013-44 (amending the Zoning Code regarding site orientation of a single family dwelling on a lot): Mr. Reingold understands that Council Member Carter may be planning an amendment to this bill, but it has not yet been drafted.
2013-100 (rezoning on Lane Avenue South): Chairwoman Boyer and Mr. Reingold have tried without success to contact Council Member Brown to see if he is ready for the committee to act on this bill.
2013-128 and -129 (land use change and rezoning on Katherine Street): Connie Holt reported that the applicant has requested deferral tonight. She will contact Council Member Holt to determine if he prefers deferral or action.
2013-169 (appeal of a COA condition for window replacement at Riverside Baptist Church): Mr. Reingold reported that the Historic Preservation Commission approved replacement of the windows in the church’s education building, but imposed a condition requiring a particular style of window to which the church objects.
Ms. Boyer noted that she has received several e-mails about the status of a proposed rezoning request on Oak Bluff Road in the San Jose area, related to a rezoning request the Council defeated last summer. The applicant has submitted a new rezoning proposal to the Planning and Development Department for review, but will not request introduction of a rezoning ordinance until July when the 1 year requirement has been fulfilled.
There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:06 p.m.
