Finance Committee: Council Member Gulliford reviewed the
actions of the committee from its meeting.
TEU Committee: Council Member
Hazouri reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.
RCDPHS Committee: Assistant Council Auditor
Kyle Billy reported that all of his committee’s bills had been previously
covered.
Rules Committee: Council Member
Schellenberg reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.
LUZ Committee: Council Member Wilson
reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting, noting that the
committee would be holding a workshop on issues relating to medical marijuana
on November 3rd.
President Anderson stated that there would be a 2-item
addendum to the agenda. He also reported that there would be a number of
presentations at the beginning of the meeting, including a 6-month update from the
City’s Inspector General and a brief presentation by the City’s brownfields
coordinator. Mr. Anderson asked that any
council members wishing to be added as co-sponsors to legislation please e-mail
their request to the Legislative Services Division. Council Member Brosche
reported that a National Lights On After School
celebration is being held in front of City Hall and invited the council members
to stop by briefly before the council meeting begins. The President announced
that in addition to the Rules Committee (as marked on the agenda), he would be referring Ordinance 2015-702 (amending the
City Charter to extend the 2-term limit on City Council members to 3 terms) to
the Finance, RCDPHS and TEU Committees as well.
The council members made friendly wagers about the outcome
of this weekend’s Florida/Georgia football game involving the fans of the
losing team wearing the winning team’s apparel at a future council meeting.
