Amendment

Rules: corrects stadium name from Alltel Stadium to EverBank Field; changes incorrect Code section reference.

 

LUZ: per OGC, the amendment removes the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena from the Sports and Entertainment Complex Sign Overlay Zone designation in Section 656.1337 for on-site signs so that exterior signage that would be otherwise considered off-site signs pursuant to Section 656.1302(1) would be prohibited at the Arena; corrects stadium name from Alltel to EverBank Field in the code chapter.

 

Finance: creates limitations on size and location of exterior signage on the Veteran’s Memorial Arena; corrects stadium name from Alltel to EverBank Field in the code chapter; removes proposed insertion of reference to “long term (in excess of 5 years)” naming rights agreement and removes proposed insertion of “for the entire facility”; strikes all of Section 2 of the ordinance – proposed amendment to City Charter Article 23 – Offsite Commercial Billboard Ban; strikes all of Sections 3 and 4 of the ordinance – proposed amendments to Code Sections 614.142 and 614.1309 – Unlawful sign messages.

o          Multi-family development prohibited.

o          1 internally illuminated sign not to exceed 32 sq. ft. and 5’ ht. on Moncrief Rd.

o          No monument sign on Chase Ave.

o          Wall signs not to exceed 1/5 sq. ft. per linear foot of store front abutting Moncrief Rd.

o          No wall signs fronting Chase Ave.
