Rules Committee: Council Member Gulliford reviewed the
actions of the committee from its meeting.
TEU Committee: Council Member Brown reviewed the actions of
the committee from its meeting.
Finance Committee: Council Member Clark reviewed the actions
of the committee from its meeting.
RCDPHS Committee: Council Member Redman reported that all
the actions of the committee had been previously covered.
LUZ Committee: Council Member Holt reviewed the actions of
the committee from its meeting.
In response to a question from Council Member Anderson,
Assistant General Counsel Susan Grandin gave an explanation of the LUZ action
on 2015-35 to deny the appeal of the decision of the Historic Preservation
Commission.
2014-750 (amending the Ordinance Code to revise the
definition of “part-time employee”): Council Member Crescimbeni indicated his
willingness to allow the ordinance to be withdrawn.
2014-725 (rezoning on Shad Road): Council Member Boyer
indicated that she would propose a floor amendment after Council Member Carter
stated that the bill is now ready for action.
2015-41 (appointment of Christopher Flagg to the Art in
Public Places Commission): Council Member Crescimbeni requested that the bill
be re-referred to committee pending further information about a possible
conflict of interest concern.
2015-54 (revising Police and Fire Pension benefits):
President Yarborough stated that the bill is not on the agenda and will not be
moved for discharge from committee and action on the floor.
President Yarborough also stated that 2015-127 (amending the
Ordinance Code to create a new Chapter 222 – Transportation Network Companies)
is not on the agenda and will not be discussed tonight.
Mr. Yarborough asked Council Member Bishop to fill in for
the ailing Council Member Lumb in making the resolution presentation to an
Eagle Scout.
Council Member Boyer stated that she would make an
announcement regarding 2015-125 (honoring and commending Greenscape
of Jacksonville on its 40th anniversary).
Mr. Yarborough stated that a bill will be added to the
addendum approving a polling place change for the upcoming City elections.
Teresa Eichner of the Mayor’s Office informed the Council
that electrical power was restored this afternoon to the townhomes on Liberty
Street affected by the street collapse two weeks ago.
