In response to a request from CVP Boyer, Ms. Jody Brooks (OGC) provided information regarding the legislation addressing distance requirements in relation to utilizing a septic tank versus connecting to a centralized sewer system. The property is within a .25 mile from a centralized system. Therefore, the applicant would be required to tie into the system based on Florida Statutes Chapter 381. Based on Ms. Brooks’ presentation, it was suggested to defer action in order for staff to update the applicant about concerns and potential financial cost.
