The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 A.M. and reviewed the marked agenda that the Council Auditor’s Office had prepared.  There were eight (8) items ready for action; four (4) items that were being deferred; eight (8) items that were being seconded and re-referred and one (1) request for emergency passage.

 

On Item #1, ORD-MC 2015-519, Amend Chapt 122 (Public Propty), Sec 122-461 (Donation for Residential Housing), Ord Code, to Increase Value of Prpty…..Council President Anderson noted that while the Finance Committee deferred the item and has scheduled a special meeting for Monday morning, April 25th to take up the item, he, the Council President was committed to getting the matter out of Committee.

 

On Item #3, ORD-MC 2016-130, Amend Chapt 150 (Adult Entertainment & Svcs Code) to Create New Subsec (11) of 150.103 (Definitions) & New Sec 150.413 (Display of Public Awareness Signs for Human Trafficking), Ord Code…., Assistant General Counsel Paige Johnston indicated that Council Member Tommy Hazouri had requested that the item be deferred until he has had an opportunity to meet with Council Member Danny Becton to work out amendments to the proposed legislation.

 

On Item#7, ORD 2016-202, though marked for deferral, Mr. Barry Sing, representing a motorcycle organization, announced that in the view of the organization that he was representing, the proposed legislation was unconstitutional and cited statistics that showed motorcycle accidents are down.

 

There being for further business, the agenda committee was adjourned at 9:06 A.M.
