Attendance: Council Members Garrett Dennis (Chair), John Crescimbeni (Vice Chair), Danny Becton, Jim Love; Deputy General Counsel Peggy Sidman, Heather Reber, Council Auditor’s Office, Allison Korman Shelton, Administration, Jeff Clements, John J. Jackson, Council Research Division, Legislative Assistant Juliette Williams; see attached sign-in sheet for additional attendees.
The Chair called the agenda meeting to order at 12:32 P.M. and reviewed the marked agenda that had been prepared by the Council Auditor’s Office. There were ten (10) items ready for action, eight (8) items being deferred, and four (4) items being seconded and re-referred.
On Item #7, ORD-MC 2016-521 Creating New Sec 50.110 (Review & Sunsetting of Certain Boards & Commissioners; Reporting)…., the Chair inquired as to whether Council Member Tommy Hazouri, one of the measure’s sponsors, would be at the Committee meeting to explain the measure and answer questions. The Chair was assured that Mr. Hazouri would be at the Committee meeting.
On Item #8, ORD 2016-534, Renaming Robinson Ave to “Harry Frisch Way”…, the Chair noted that while the item was being deferred, a community meeting to address concerns is scheduled for September 19, 2016.
On Item #9, RESO 2016-535, Expressing Interest in Moving the Ofc of Inspector General into the St. James Bldg…, Council Member Danny Becton had previously requested that his name be added as a co-sponsor.
The Chair announced that at the Rules Special Committee Meeting, four Independent Authorities would be discussed: JTA, JEA, JAA, and JaxPort.
There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 12:37 p.m.
