Melissa Long of the Northeast Florida Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council , Chief of the Environmental Quality Division, addressed the question of a potential conflict of interest with James Richardson, staff to the Environmental Protection Board and also a board member of the USGBC Northeast Florida Chapter. According to the City’s Ethics Office Mr. Richardson does not have a conflict of interest at present, but would if the grant is awarded and he was to be the official administering the grant for the City. To prevent that possibility, Mr. Richardson has tendered his resignation from the USGBC.
