Melissa Long, Chief, Environmental Quality Division, explained what the legislation entailed and fielded questions.  Council Members Reggie Gaffney and Reggie Brown had questions about former gas station sites in their respective Council Districts.  Council Member John Crescimbeni suggested that Ms. Long provide the panel with the lists that tracked the status of clean-up sites throughout the County.  She had provided Mr. Crescimbeni with the list when he requested the information at the Finance Committee Mtg.

The North Florida TPO was scheduled to make a presentation on its 5-Year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) at the previous Committee meeting.  That meeting had to be cancelled owing to an impending storm.  Council Member John Crescimbeni requested that the representative of the TPO provide the panel with an abbreviated synopsis of the TIP.  Ms. Wanda Forrest explained that the North Florida TPO was comprised of four counties (Duval Nassau, Clay and St.Johns).  The Transportation Improvement Plan entailed transportation improvement projects for the years 2016 through 2020.  The plan was adopted by the TPO Board on June 9, 2016.  Ms. Forrest fielded questions on specific transportation projects raised by Committee Members.
