Meeting Convened: 4:01 p.m.

 

President Brosche called the meeting to order asked for the committee reports.

 

NCSPHS Committee: Council Member Newby reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting. Council Member Morgan said will abstain from voting on 2018-349 due to a conflict of interest involving her husband’s organization receiving funding from the appropriation.

 

TEU Committee: Council Member Ferraro reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

 

Finance Committee: Council Member Becton reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

 

LUZ Committee: Council Member Boyer reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting. On 2018-288 and -259 (land use change and rezoning), members should vote the red button if they wish to support the committee recommendation and deny the bills.

 

Rules Committee: Council Member Wilson reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

Council President Brosche said that on 2018-339 the Finance Committee amendment will be moved first. She announced that Council Member Schellenberg has been recognized by the Florida Association of Counties with its 2018 President’s Award for outstanding advocacy for the association’s interests and urged his colleagues to congratulate him when next they see him.

 

The President announced that the meeting will open with 3 resolution presentations, followed by reports by the Task Force on Civil Rights History and the Task Force on Open Government, followed by several Council President awards being presented tonight rather than Thursday night at the installation of officers ceremony.

 

Council Member Ferraro thanked the members of the TEU Committee for their good work during the past year.
