Council President Lori Boyer explained what the legislation entailed, namely to facilitate the process of the City to  accept donations for recreation projects.  Ms. Boyer reported that she had worked closely with Daryl Joseph, Director, Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, to craft the proposed legislation.  Phillip Peterson, Council Auditor’s Office, explained the amendments that the Council Auditor’s Office attached to the bill.

Teresa Eichner, Capital Improvement Program Administrator, explained what the legislation entailed.

She explained that essentially, the legislation appropriates the various funds for projects that are in different accounts.  The projects remain intact.

 

Council Member Garrett Dennis asked Public Works Director, John Pappas, when would the “shovels hit the dirt?”  He wanted to know when the projects would be underway and requested that Mr. Pappas keep him apprised of the projects’ progress and status.  Mr. Pappas explained that the projects could commence in July if the City Council approves this legislation when it meets next week.
