assistance; Public Service Grants, public safety; safety hazards and dangerous
infrastructure; motor vehicle inspections; collections; crime and crime prevention; victim services; Jacksonville Journey; Sheriff's Office;
police-community relations; Fire and Rescue Department; emergency preparedness
and civil defenses; military bases; personnel and affairs; base realignment and
closure (BRAC) issues; and all related subjects.
If
a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Council with respect to any
matter considered at such meeting, such person will need a record of the
proceedings, and for such purpose, such person may need to ensure that a
verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony
and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

Public Comment:
Mr. Makrat distributed pamphlets about
the mosquito crasher. The company is based in Miami, Florida. The cost ranges
from $1,500.00 to $3,500.00.
Dr. Ben Hamilton stated that the Opioid
Epidemic Pilot Program needed to include/utilize community based programs in collecting
data and offering services.
Alison Hewitt, Department of Health,
provided the committee an update on the Zika Virus and other community
issues. She reported that Duval County
has one verifiable mumps diagnosis and a rabies alert in Jacksonville Beach
area.
