The Committee Chair, Jay
Jabour, called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., stating his intent to take up
appointments first and to consider the reorganization legislation (Ordinance
2007-839) last.
At the request of the Chair,
Mr. Phillip Peterson, Office of Council Auditor, took everyone through the
marked agenda containing the suggested committee actions.
Concerning Item #1
(2005-718), the Chair indicated that the bill would be deferred in committee.
It was noted that the Chair had
inquired of Ms. Laquidara relative to Item #6 (2007-611), and she indicated
that this legislation addressed a lawsuit.
The nature of the substitutes
for items #9 (Ordinance 2007-830) and #10 (2007-831) was explained as more
project identification. The Chair
advised that these two bills would be considered after appointments.
Mr. Robert Phillips, Office
of the Supervisor of Elections, requested that Item #24 (2007-922) be
considered early in the meeting to accommodate the schedule of Mr. Jerry
Holland, Supervisor of Elections, who would be in attendance. The Chair gave assent to the request.
