LAND USE AND ZONING COMMITTEE AGENDA MEETING MINUTES

 

September 3, 2008

Attendance:  Committee Chair Art Graham; Committee Members Ray Holt, Stephen Joost, and Don Redman; Shannon Eller and Dylan Reingold, Office of General Counsel; John Crofts, Sean Kelly, and Folks Huxford, Department of Planning and Development; Merriane Lahmeur, Marilyn Allen, and Rick Campbell, Office of City Council

 

The Committee Chair, Art Graham, called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.  He asked Mr. John Crofts to take everyone through the marked agenda containing the suggested committee actions.

 

Changes, additions, and comments concerning the agenda as marked included:

07-1086 New public hearing dates to be set

08-413 and 08-414 It was noted that these items are part of several bills on the agenda affected by            the conversions of various small-scale amendments to semi-annual status; Ms. Eller noted     that such items will now be transmitted by ordinance due to new case law

08-517 and 08-518 Mr. Crofts advised that the District Council Member has requested deferral

08-562 Deferral due to pending community issues

08-563 Deferral due to pending community issues; public hearing continued to October 7, 2008,     at the request of Mr. Paul Harden, agent

08-567 Deferral to allow for planning recommendations

08-589 In response to inquiry by the Chair, Ms. Eller suggested that 15 minutes be allowed for       each side; it was noted that C/M Clark is excused due to a Canvassing Board audit, and it      was stated that he may request deferral

08-606 and 08-607 The Chair stated that he has received a request to defer these items

08-627 and 628 C/M Holt informed the group that he anticipates that several people from the        community will be present

08-651 C/M Joost inquired about the planning report, which has not yet been written, and was       advised to speak with Mr. Kelly; the item is to be deferred

08-678 Ms. Eller advised that the proposed amendment attaches the settlement agreement

 

As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
