AGENDA MEETING MINUTES
July 14, 2008
3:30 p.m.
City Council Conference Room A
117 W. Duval Street
Attendance: Chairman Clay Yarborough; committee members
Bill Bishop and Ray Holt
Janice Billy – Auditor’s Office; Philip Zamarron –
Legislative Services Division; Steve Rohan – Office of General Counsel; Sherry
Hall – Mayor’s Office; Ebenezer Gujjarlapudi and Vince Seibold - Environmental and Compliance Department; Angela
Ryan – ECA; Jeff Clements – Council Research Division
The meeting was called to
order at 3:31 p.m. by Chairman Yarborough.
Janice Billy reviewed the
marked agenda, which included 5 items to be deferred (2 as a result of
deferrals in the Rules Committee earlier in the day), 3 items ready for action
and 3 items to be read a second time and re-referred. She noted that 2008-28 (amending Groundwater
Resource Management chapter of the Ordinance Code) will have an amendment to
add several provisions relating to golf courses and their use of fertilizer.
Chairman Yarborough stated
that he will ask the committee to schedule a visit to the city jail at some
point during the year as part of its oversight of criminal justice issues. He also would like to continue the practice
started by last year’s PHS Committee of scheduling several community meetings
in locations around the city to give the public an opportunity to express their
thoughts and opinions on the Jacksonville Journey program directly to the
committee.
There being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
