Attendance: Chairman Kevin Hyde; committee members Redman,
Yarborough, Holt and Joost
Philip Peterson – Auditor’s Office; Phillip Zamarron –
Legislative Services Division; Steve Rohan – Office of General Counsel; Lisa
Rinaman – Mayor’s Office;; Jeff Clements – Research Division; Angela Ryan and
Celeste Hicks – ECAs
The meeting was called to
order at 3:30 p.m. by Chairman Hyde who reviewed the marked agenda, which
included 4 items to be deferred, 5 items ready for action and 8 items
recommended for second reading and re-referral.
There will be 2 presentations
after the completion of the regular agenda.
Kevin Gay of Operation New Hope will make a presentation on the Ready To
Work program, and Ben Goldsmith of Circle of Hope will make a presentation on
the WorkNet program.
Following those presentations
the committee meeting will move from the Council Chamber to Committee Room A
where Chief Assistant State Attorney Jay Plotkin will have 2 juvenile offenders
who have been tried and convicted as adults of serious crimes to speak to the
committee and answer questions about their lives and involvement in crime and
about their perspective on how the City can address crime issues.
There being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:34 p.m.
