The meeting was called to
order at 3:30 p.m. by Chairman Hyde who reviewed the marked agenda, which
included 1 item to be withdrawn, 1 item to be deferred, 7 items ready for
action, 2 items recommended for second reading and re-referral, and 1 item
requested for emergency approval.
Chairman Hyde announced that
there will be several presentations following the agenda items, including a
discussion by Chief Administrative Officer Alan Mosley regarding fleet
maintenance privatization and a presentation by Beverly McClain of Families of
Slain Children. The committee may also
begin a wrap-up discussion of its findings from the two crime and safety
forums.
Council Member Joost stated
that he would like to propose discussion of the Tree Protection and Related
Expenses Trust Fund and the amount of the fund that can be used for tree
maintenance rather than new tree planting purposes.
There being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
