Attendance:  Council Members Webb (Chair), Yarborough, Davis; Peggy Sidman, Office of General Counsel; Heather Norsworthy, Phillip Peterson, Council Auditor’s Office; Lisa Rinaman, Administration; Dana Brown, Environmental/Compliance; Bob Williams, Public Works/Real Estate; Wight Greger, Housing and Neighborhoods; Chris Peterson, Solid Waste Management; Rachel Welsh, City Council; Joe Andrews, Concerned Taxpayers; Sandra Lane, Angela Ryan, ECAs; Shirley Nulf, Legislative Services.

 

The Committee Chair, Council Member Webb, called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.

 

The Chair asked Heather Norsworthy to take the Committee through the recommended marked agenda prepared by the Council Auditor’s Office on suggested actions.

 

Council Member Yarborough asked about the status of ORD 2005-718 (Amend Secs 326.103 – Signs & Outdoor Display Structures – Exemptions & 6561303 – Zoning Limitations on Signs) to Allow a Spec Exemption to Allow Bus Shelter Advertising).  The Committee was advised that Council Member Warren Jones is working with JTA to come up with a substitute.

 

The Chair asked about the status of ORD 2007-1005 (Creating Chpt 113 (Gifts to City) Establishing Method & Means of City to Accept Donations, Gifts of Personal Property & Gifts to the Executive & Legislation Branches of Tickets & Admissions to Events & Travel).  Phillip Peterson, Council Auditor’s Office, indicted that his office is currently trying to work something out with the bill’s sponsor, Council Member Lee.

 

Peggy Sidman, Office of General Counsel, indicated that she would be distributing material at the Committee meeting that would help explain ORD 2008-513 (Amending Ord Code Chapters to Correct the Titles of the Depts Pursuant to the Reorganization Legislation).

 

The Chair asked Bob Williams, Public Works/Real Estate, to speak on ORD 2008-578 (Declaring Surplus Propty near Intersec of 103rd St. & Old Middleburg Rd; Waiving Ord Code to allow Marketing & Disposition by Auction to allow Sale Proceeds to be Deposited into the 5-Yr Projs Acct.)

 

The Chair announced that Lisa Rinaman would provide the Committee with an update on preparations for Tropical Storm/Hurricane Fay at the outset of the Committee meeting.

 

There being no other business on the agenda, the Agenda Meeting was adjourned at 9:47 a.m.
