The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and proceeded to take everyone through the marked agenda with proposed actions provided by the Council Auditor’s Office.
The Chair inquired about the status of Item #5, ORD 2008-538, Auth Amended & Restated Landfill Operation & Constrn Agreemt with Trail Ridge Landfill, Inc., and was advised by Sherry Hall that the administration is moving on this matter and that it could be ready for action by the next Committee meeting.
On Item #8, ORD 2008-821, Auth 3rd Amend to Redevelopment Agreemt with JEDC, H.O.P.E., Inc of Jax and INOC, LLC, Sherry Hall explained the nature of the questions and concerns raised by the Finance Committee in the course of that Committee’s deliberations. Work had to be done on amendments to the bill. The developer is in default. There are some questions as to whether there were plans for a movie theater or auto dealership in the development agreement.
On Item #11, ORD 2008-892, Adopt Small-Scale Amend in FLUM Series re Propty on Ocean Street in Mayport (cruise line issue), the Chair indicated that he expected a number of people from Mayport to be on hand; Dylan Reingold announced that Jaxport had a PowerPoint for a presentation; Mr. Reingold suggested that the Committee take up Items 11 & 27 together since both bills concerned Jaxport’s proposed cruise line terminal at Mayport.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:43 a.m.
