of the Finance Committee.
Council President
Clark thanked the members in advance for the hard work they are going to be
asked to do in putting together next year’s budget in very challenging economic
times. He noted that this year will be
only the third year since consolidation in which City revenues have fallen from
one fiscal year to the next. He also
noted that the two additional members he intends to add to the committee for
this year will become official voting members when City Council approves the
Council Rules waiver ordinance next week.

answer to a question about the use of Tree Protection Trust Funds for uses
other than directly planting trees Janice Billy explained that the Trust Fund
is actually composed of 2 separate funds one generated by a Charter provision
and the other by an ordinance. The
Charter-generated funds cannot be used for any purpose other than tree
planting and irrigation systems. The
ordinance-generated funds can additionally be used for purposes such as
