The committee discussed the
list of ideas for study topics presented at a previous committee meeting and
formed several subcommittees to begin working on the issues.
At the conclusion of the
agenda, Ms. Linda Dayson, a resident of the Kendall Court Apartments and the
founder of Hurting Families With Children In Crime, Inc., described her recent
dispute with the management of her apartment complex and her eviction from her
apartment this week. The committee
advised Ms. Dayson to contact Jacksonville Area Legal Aid to obtain legal help
to deal with the eviction, and Lisa Rinaman of the Mayor’s Office was
attempting to contact the Jacksonville Housing Authority to see if emergency
housing could be made available to Ms. Dayson.
There being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
