Chairwoman Lee announced that Council Member Fussell had resigned from the committee and would be replaced by Council Member Corrigan at the next meeting.  Ms. Lee also requested that Council Member Johnson be invited to attend the next committee meeting to address her pending Ordinances 2009-515, -516 and -517 repealing the stormwater utility, solid waste collection, and utility franchise fees.

At the conclusion of the agenda the committee members discussed their lists of potential study topics for the committee year.  The following suggestions were made:

 

Yarborough: 1) Code enforcement; 2) fleet management operations; 3) Victim Services Division

 

Brown: 1) Ice machine and storage container (PODS) placement in neighborhoods; 2) anti-loitering enforcement; 3) regulation of temporary car washes

 

Crescimbeni: 1) fleet management issues

 

The committee agreed to begin taking up these issues and scheduling presentations from departmental representatives and other invited speakers in October after completion of the budget.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:42 p.m.
