Attendance: Committee Chair Art Shad; Committee Members Clay
Yarborough and Bill Bishop; Heather Norsworthy, Office of Council Auditor; Peggy
Sidman and Dylan Reingold, Office of General Counsel; Philip Zamarron and Rick
Campbell, Office of City Council; Lisa Rinaman and Sherry Hall, Office of the
Mayor; Annette Hastings, Executive Director, Duval County Tourist Development
Council
The Committee Chair, Art Shad,
called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and he proceeded to take everyone
through the marked agenda containing the suggested committee actions.
Changes, additions, and
comments concerning the agenda as marked included:
09-465 Ms. Sidman advised
that a previous committee question was whether there was any request to use tourist development
funding; she indicated that, at that time of that meeting, no application had been made; Mrs. Hastings provided
an update, adding that a request
involving tourist development dollars for festival funding is now going through
Special Events
09-588 The appointee, Ms.
Davis, has jury duty and may not be able to be present
09-611 It was clarified that
a proposed amendment would allow the transfer of time to a speaker; discussion of Council procedure followed
09-617 Ms. Norsworthy drew
attention to the attachment found at the end of the agenda
09-622 In response to a
question, it was noted that this bill would move certain elections to 2010; the Chair was advised that C/M Don Redman will
be present at the committee meeting to
address questions and that the Supervisor of Elections is also expected to be
in attendance
09-654 It was stated that the
proposed amendment removes waivers
The meeting was adjourned at
