The Committee Chair, Jack
Webb, called the meeting to order at 9:32 a.m.
He asked Ms. Norsworthy to take everyone through the marked agenda
containing the suggested committee actions.
Changes, additions, and
comments concerning the agenda as marked included:
09-371, 09-372, and 09-373 In
response to a question, Ms. Hall stated that the appointees should be present
09-407 Ms. Sidman advised
that the property owner will be present at the meeting, but that C/M Lee may not be present; Ms. Hall indicated
that the Administration does not support the legislation;
the Chair indicated that the bill may be deferred
09-436 Ms. Sidman stated that
the exhibits, while not incorrect, are more transparent
09-446 and 09-447 The Chair
noted the request for deferral, and indicated that these bills can be considered by the Rules Committee and then
deferred in the Transportation, Energy and Utilities
Committee
09-460 It was noted that this
appointment requires three readings
09-461 It was noted that this
appointment requires only two readings and can be considered today
09-467 An additional
amendment to provide departmental oversight is to be proposed; it was stated that C/M Clark has requested
emergency action
09-473 It was noted that this
appointment requires only two readings and can be considered today
09-485 Proposed substitute
incorporates LHAP amendment provisions rather than addressing through additional legislation
The Chair acknowledged the
collective bargaining bills on the agenda.
Mr. Bob Williams, Real Estate
Officer, indicated that C/M Gaffney may introduce legislation for emergency
action Tuesday night. Ms. Sidman
informed the group that unnumbered bills were no longer considered for official
action, but that the Rules Committee could consider the subject matter and place
its views on the record.
