The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m.    

 

The Chair asked Assistant Council Auditor Janice Billy to review the agenda.

 

On Item #5, RESO 2011-607, Req FDEP to Delay Issuance of the Georgia Pacific Paper Mill Discharge Permit, the Chair announced that representatives from Georgia-Pacific, the St. Johns Riverkeeper, and a representative from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection would be at the Committee meeting; Council Member Lumb indicated that the meeting would be lengthy.

 

On Item #25, ORD 2011-732, re City Govt Executive Branch Dept Reorg…., the Chair announced that he was creating a study group of citizens to take a close look at the proposed executive branch reorganization legislation; the study group would be headed by Ron Mallett and comprised of prominent citizens in the community, citizens like Sam Mousa.  The study group would be a resource for the Committee.  Deputy General Counsel Steve Rohan reminded the Chair about Sunshine provisions; the Chair indicated that all of the study group’s meetings would be noticed. Council Member Reggie Brown expressed the hope that the study group would have some new faces as members, as well.  Council Member Robin Lumb felt that the Office of General Counsel should weigh in to apprise Committee Members on how things currently in the Ordinance Code and Executive branch would change with the proposed reorganization legislation.

 

There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:46 p.m.
