The meeting was called to order at 1:29 p.m.
The Chair announced that at the end of the Committee meeting, the Committee would resume its consideration of the priority list of items that warranted further discussion and action during the cycle. In addition, the Chair was adding a Comments from the Public component to the Committee’s regular agenda.
Assistant Council Auditor Janice Billy reviewed the agenda items.
Lisa Sheppard explained the numerous issues that the library raised with the City’s use of the library for the restoration conference. Budget concerns were paramount. Council Member Reggie Brown raised concerns about the problems that taxpayers had to surmount to use a City facility for a program whose objectives are educating and advocating for taxpayers’ interests. Peggy Sidman, Office of General Counsel, explained that the library’s fee system was devised to make the library more self-sufficient.
After reviewing the other items that were either ready for action, being deferred or recommended for seconding and re-referral, the meeting was adjourned at 1:47 p.m.
