The
Chair announced the creation of the Hemming Park Revitalization Sub-Committee
and named Council Member Lumb as that body’s Chair. Council Members Brown, Boyer and Daniels were
added as sub-committee members. Chairman
Gulliford encouraged the Subcommittee to involve Council Member Redman, as the
park was in his Council District; the Chairman suggested that participants in
the subcommittee’s undertakings should include JSO, Downtown Vision, adjacent
business owners, the Library. Council
Member Brown felt that it was imperative to include people who regularly use
the park. Council Member Daniels noted
that a number of the people that visited the park regularly grew up in nearby
neighborhoods. Jessica Deal suggested
that the Parks Department be included in the sub-committee’s deliberations.
There
being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
