At the conclusion of the agenda Council Member Bishop asked Mayor’s Chief of Staff Chris Hand about the status of Phase II of the mayor’s administrative reorganization. He does not want to see administrative changes made piecemeal, but as part of a comprehensive plan. Mr. Hand stated that the City departments are in the process of exploring possible avenues for efficiency and cost savings. The administration will be happy to make a report at the next Finance Committee meeting or perhaps a special called meeting. Council Member Schellenberg requested a current organizational chart showing all of the City departments and divisions, which administrative positions are filled by a confirmed appointment, which are filled by acting managers, and which are currently vacant.
