The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m. and asked the Assistant Council Auditor, Janice Billy, to review her office’s marked agenda. 7 items were being deferred; 1 item was being withdrawn; 1 item was ready for action.

The Chair announced that at the close of the regular agenda items, the Committee would take up some of the items on the priority list of topics that the Committee felt merited further discussion and possible action.  Council Member Lumb would apprise the Committee on his findings regarding medicines and emergency equipment transported in Fire & Rescue vehicles.  The Committee would look at the health care issues raised at the last meeting.  Jessica Deal indicated that Jarik Conrad, Director of Employee Services would be on hand.  TRUE Commissioners would also be in attendance.

Council Member Matt Schellenberg requested that the Chairman put issues surrounding Huguenot and Hanna Parks that had been in the news on the agenda, as well.  There would be people attending the Committee meeting who will want to raise and comment on the issue.  Kelley Boree, Director of the Parks & Recreation Department, indicated that she was prepared to explain the parks situation at the agenda meeting.  Director Boree explained that a number of parks employees had unexpectedly quit their jobs which resulted in the Parks & Recreation Department’s inability to have extended hours at the parks until April 28th.  New parks employees are being brought on board, they are currently being trained and the extended park hours will be effective after the 28th.  General Counsel Cindy Laquidara curtailed discussion explaining that the parks’ hours issue was not on the meeting’s notice as an item for discussion.

There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:37 p.m.
