4 – 1 (Clark) Assistant Council Auditor Janice Billy explained the
sources of funds in the appropriation. Chris Hand, Chief of Staff to the Mayor, indicated that
the Administration would like a one-cycle deferral of the bill to provide the
Real Estate Division of the Public Works Department an opportunity to
evaluate additional property in the area for the project that the City could
acquire at a reasonable price; the Administration is supportive of the
project. Council Member Clark said that he was supportive of the
one-cycle deferral to give the Administration an opportunity to assess the
other property. Council Member Holt, the bill’s sponsor, remarked
that a considerable amount of work had gone into the legislation and that it
was time to move on and approve the measure. Council Member Gaffney thought
that it was time to vote on and approve the measure, as well. |
