The bill’s sponsor, Council Member Jones, Jeff Foster of Solid Waste and Assistant General Counsel Margaret Sidman explained what the bill entailed.  All responded to Council Member Schellenberg’s request for clarification on the 6:00 a.m. trash pick-up time.  When asked about the need for the legislation, Assistant General Counsel Cherry Shaw told of a recent court case involving the Solid Waste Division that resulted in the drafting of the legislation.

Council Member Robin Lumb engaged Animal Care & Protective Services Director Scott Trebatoski in a discussion  on organized dog fighting in the County.  Mr. Trebatoski explained how the ACPS Division, JSO, the State’s Attorney’s Office, the ASPCA and others worked together to eradicate dog fighting and all other instances of cruelty to animals.
