Meeting Convened: 4:00 p.m.

Council President Gulliford convened the meeting and asked the committee chairs to report their committee actions.

PHS Committee: Council Member Daniels reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

RCD Committee: Council Member Crescimbeni reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

Finance Committee: Council Member Anderson reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting, requesting that 2013-521 (economic development incentives for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.) and 2013-522 (economic development incentives for Exquisite Import/Export Trading Company) be taken up early in the meeting.

Rules Committee: Council Member Jones reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

LUZ Committee: Council Member Boyer reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

TEU Committee: Council Member Love reviewed the actions of the committee from its meeting.

Peggy Sidman noted that pursuant to the Council Rules, 2013-521 and -522 cannot be heard until after the Public Comment period has been held, so they cannot be taken up at the beginning of the meeting.

Council Member Crescimbeni noted that with the confirmation of an appointment to the position of Chief of the Community Planning Division (2013-500), his bill 2012-578 (combining the Current Planning and Community Planning Divisions within the Planning and Development Department) should be withdrawn. It will be added to an addendum to the agenda and discharged for action.

Council Member Yarborough requested that 2013-488 (authorizing a joint project agreement with the School Board for construction of a running/walking track at Parkwood Heights Elementary School) be pulled from the consent agenda for a floor amendment.

Council Member Carter requested that 2013-545 (honoring and commending Bob Simpson of the JAA) be pulled from the consent agenda for a floor amendment.

Council President Gulliford announced that he is making a concerted effort to fill the many vacancies to which the Council appoints members of various boards and commissions, and solicited nominations from the council to help find qualified persons to fill all the slots.
