2013 -2014 City Council Installation of
Officers
Topic: Jacksonville City Council Installation
Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 28,
2013, 4:00 pm. The ceremony is held to install the Honorable William I.
Gulliford, Jr., 2013-2014 Council President and the Honorable Clay E.
Yarborough, as 2013-2014 Vice President.
In accordance with Council Rules the positions will become effective
July 1, 2013. (Invited attendees will include the Jacksonville City Council
Members, Constructional officers, Judges, Duval Delegation, Congressional
Representatives, and Members of the appointed Boards and Commissions of the
City of

City Council President Bill Bishop
introduced Dr. Wayne Wood, OD to provide a PowerPoint and slide presentation on
the 100th Anniversary of the St. James Building (See attachment of
slides as well as detailed discussion http://www.coj.net/city-council/city-council-meetings-online/2013-council-video-archive.aspx#Council). City Council
President Bishop presented an award to an outstanding City employee who works
diligently for our city, often in unspoken ways. This year’s recipient was Eric Lindstrom who
was presented the Robert O Johnson Award.
Council President Bishop presented
the Mary Singleton Award reinstated by Former Council President Stephen Joost
in 2011 … this award is presented to the most outstanding Committee Chairperson
for the Jacksonville City Council. Consideration given to outstanding service,
fortitude, etc… and stated that this year’s award would go to CM John
Crescimbeni. CP Bishop recognizes CM
Crescimbeni for his hard work as Chairman of Finance and also presented him a
customized painting for his service
Also, the outgoing Council
President Bishop recognized an outstanding member of the City Council for
contributions made the previous year. Father
Webb, son to the late Charles D. Webb as asked to assist in the presentation of
the Charles Webb Award. Father Webb

Charles D. Webb award was presented to Council Member Lori N. Boyer, for her
hard work and dedication
CM Bishop asked that Fmr. Council
President and Current Clerk of Court Ronnie Fussell come forward to assist in
the presentation of the Melody Starr Anne Bishop. Ronnie Fussell Clerk of the
Court established the Melody Starr Anne Bishop award in 2009 to celebrate the
legacy and life of a true community activist that although young had provided a
rich heritage for the City of Jacksonville.
This year’s award was presented to Dr. Wayne Wood, OD (Click here to

Bishop concluded by providing all Standing Committee Chairman with customized

The Honorable Adrian G. Soud, Circuit
Court Judge, Duval County Florida swore in Clay E. Yarborough as Vice President
of the Jacksonville City Council. Vice
President Yarborough, wife Jordan, and sons Grayson and Emerson came forward.
Following the oath VP Yarborough

The Honorable Gary Flower, County
Court Judge, Duval County Florida swore in William I. Gulliford, Jr., as
President of the Jacksonville City Council.
President, Gulliford and wife Harriett came forward. Mrs. Gulliford
receives flowers.
Council President Gulliford calls
CP Bishop to the podium and presents him with the Past President’s plaque and
special Council gift. CP Bishop calls
Suzanne up and thanks her for her hard work and dedication and presents her
with flowers. CP Gulliford presents
flowers to Mrs. Bishop from the Council.

Emily Lisska congratulated Past President
Bishop, President William I. Gulliford, Jr., and Vice President Clay E.
Yarborough... Informed every one of the
Installation Reception held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA). Music at
the reception was provided by The Presidential Trio.
