In response to a question from Council
Member Redman, Randy Wyse, President of the Jacksonville Association of
Firefighters, described under what circumstances a Fire and Rescue Department
ambulance transports patients and how that transport policy relates to
transport by private ambulance companies.
JFRD transports only in emergency cases and only to emergency rooms,
although what constitutes an emergency is sometimes a matter of interpretation
by the patient and the EMS crew.
