READ 2ND & REREFER
At the close of the agenda items, Assistant General Counsel
Paige Johnston brought to the Committee’s attention the fact that Jacksonville
Fire & Rescue needed the Committee’s approval of a Certificate of Public
Convenience and Necessity for Med-Trans to operate Air Medical Transport (for
Shands) within the City of Jacksonville.
Med-Trans would replace the current COPCN for Rocky Mountain Holdings
who will no longer be the contractor for Shands. Ivan Mote, Division Chief, Rescue, explained
the circumstances and fielded questions.
Assistant General Counsel Paige Johnston was instructed to prepare two pieces of
legislation: one bill for the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity;
another to clarify provisions in Chapter 158, Ordinance Code, at Council
Member Crescimbeni’s request.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 5:06 P.M.
