In Public Comments, Mr. Mike Yokan addressed issues with
Ordinance 2013-676 that he says still concerns him and other promoters; he had
distributed a memorandum to the Committee that elaborated specific concerns and
points.
Mr. Yokan felt that it was imperative that the intent of
Ordinance 2013-676 be consistent and apply to both Metropolitan Park and Everbank
Stadium.
The Committee engaged in a lengthy discussion on components
of the legislation, volume standards and noise monitoring.. The “pulling the plug” provision was
addressed, with Mr. Yokan characterizing do so as dangerous. Steve Pace, Environmental Engineering
Manager, Environmental Quality Division, Neighborhoods Department, reported on
noise surveys that the EQD had conducted at the Welcome to Rockville concert,
the Jacksonville Boat Show and Funk Fest.
At the end of Public Comment, Council Member Matt
Schellenberg asked Mayoral Liaison Margo Klosterman to follow up on a matter
that the Council Member had previously raised.
Mr. Schellenberg indicated that he had received no reply from the
Administration on the suggested that he had made to call together a number of
leaders in the City (the heads of J.A.A., J.T.A., J.E.A. and others) to form a leadership committee that would
focus on critical issues.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:44 P. M.
