& REREFER At the close of the agenda items, Council Members Warren Jones, E. Denise Lee
and Don Redman remarked on conditions of Hemming Plaza. Council Member Lee provided the Committee
with background information on the work and goals of the Hemming Plaza Task Force. Jorge Herrera, Chief Executive Officer, Nopetro, provided
a PowerPoint presentation on Nopetro’s private-public partnerships with
Florida Counties in an effort to transition to vehicles fueled by compressed
natural gas (CNG). He explained how
compressed natural gas was far more economical than other energy sources, how
it was cleaner and lessened dependence on foreign oil imports. Work with Leon County was particularly
cited. At the end of his presentation,
Mr. Herrera field numerous questions from the
Committee Members. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
