RECREATION & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AGENDA MEETING

July 16, 2013

   1:30 p.m.

City Council Conference Room A

Suite 425, City Hall

117 W. Duval Street

Attendance:   Council Members John Crescimbeni (Chair), Don Redman (Vice Chair), Jim Love, Ray Holt; Assistant Council Auditor Janice Billy;  Assistant General Counsel Paige Johnston; Michelle Barth, Mayor’s Office; Kim Scott, Chief, Bryan Mozier, Municipal Code Compliance Division; Harrison Conyers, Military Affairs; Shelley Clark, UNF;  Paula Shoup, Legislative Services; John J. Jackson, Research Division.

The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M.

The Chair reviewed the Council Auditor’s Office’s marked agenda.  There were four (4) items ready for action; four (4) items were being deferred; and four (4) items being recommended for second reading and re-referral.

The Chair indicated that Item #10, ORD 2013-408, Providing City’s Formal Support for Efforts of the Jacksonville Historic Naval Ship Assn to Coordinate Local, State & Fed Authorities to bring the retired Naval Vessel USS Charles F. Adams to Downtown Jax as a Floating Museum….had been deferred in Finance Committee earlier in the day.  Some of the Committee members had left when a 4-3 vote recommending approval was taken.  As the Finance Committee is now comprised of nine (9) members, it takes five (5) votes to move an item out of the Committee.  The item being deferred in Finance, the Chair felt that the representatives that had come to advocate for the measure should come back the next Committee cycle when the measure will be ready for action in Finance and RCD.

There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:33 P.M.
