Public Comment:
Ms. Truett shared information about her
son’s experience with the SAO diversion program. He was arrested at age 12 at Landmark School
due to altercation with his teacher. Her son completed the program and she paid
the fee. Ms. Truett’s son later entered JROTC with hopes to join military. He succeeded in JROTC and received several
awards. He graduated last year and has recently been informed that his arrest
at 12yo is preventing him from joining the military.
CM Love requested Ms. Truett to remain
after the meeting to exchange information so that he could provide his
assistance in addressing the military issue. Council members thanked Ms. Truett
for sharing her experience.
