At the conclusion of
the agenda Council Member Brown stated that Jacksonville under-invests in health-related
programs compared to other counties and suggested that more needs to be done in
that regard. Chairwoman Daniels expressed disappointment with the announced
decision to combine the PHS and RCD Committees into a single committee in the
next Council year, believing there is sufficient work for both to do and that
the committees have the ability to study and produce action on issues that are
not necessarily bills on the respective agendas.
The Chairwoman and
committee members exchanged congratulations on an active and productive
committee year and the members thanked Ms. Daniels for her leadership.
