He stated that he intends to tackle many solid waste and host fee issues after the budget process is over. Jeff Foster, Chief of the Solid Waste Division, answered questions about CONs, recycling and host fees.

Bill Summary

 

Ethics Officer Carla Miller explained the purpose of the bill and the need for emergency action. Council Member Lumb proposed an amendment to fund the office in the amount of $52,000. Mr. Lumb addressed the availability of Sheryl Steckler, former Inspector General of Palm Beach County, to help the City establish its IG office. Chairman Gulliford and Council Member Jones discussed allegations they had heard about perceptions of impropriety in the hiring of Ms. Steckler without an advertised search process.
