legislation, Council Member Matt Schellenberg indicated that he was inclined
to vote against the ordinance until he saw DIA’s downtown plan first. Dr. Wayne Wood and Bill Prescott of the Friends of Hemming
Plaza explained what the goals of the group was and how they envisioned the
revitalization of Hemming Plaza. They
fielded numerous questions from the panel.
Aundra Wallace, Downtown Investment Authority, was engaged in
explaining DIA’s role and what it expected of the FOHP. Assistant General Counsel Tim Horkan fielded questions on the proposed License
Agreement between DIA and the Friends of Hemming Plaza. Council Members Jones, Lumb and Crescimbeni
indicated that they were supportive of the goals of the legislation, noting
that Hemming Plaza was at City Hall’s “front door.” |
