Attendance: Council Members Lori Boyer (Vice Chair), Matt Schellenberg, Greg Anderson, Robin Lumb; Council Members Reggie Brown and Kimberly Daniels were excused; Philip Peterson, Council Auditor’s Office; Paige Johnston, Jason Teal, Office of General Counsel; Margo Klosterman, Mayor’s Office; John Jones, Public Works Department; Bryan Mosier, Regulatory Compliance; Robert Prado, Municipal Code Compliance Division; Nancy Garcia, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors; Jessie Spradley; Mercedes Parker, Suzanne Warren, Executive Council Assistants; Jessica Morales, Legislative Services; John J. Jackson, Council Research Division.
The Acting Chair called the agenda meeting to order at 1:28 P.M.
Philip Peterson reviewed the marked agenda that had been prepared by the Council Auditor’s Office and indicated that there were seven (7) items ready for action; eight (8) items being deferred; three (3) items being seconded and re-referred; one (1) item being withdrawn; and one (1) request for emergency passage.
On Item #4m ORD-MC 2014-553, Amend Sec 741.107 (Violation of Zero-Tolerance for Litter Law)…., the Chair reported that she had heard from Attorney Bill Brinton who indicated that he had not had an opportunity to review the amendments that had been filed. The Chair announced that while she would defer the item to accommodate Mr. Brinton, she was going to allow a discussion of the matter in Committee.
On Item #11, ORD 2014-692, Approp $17,950 from Tree Protection & Related Expenses Trust Fund to Plant 70 Trees on City R/W on Gately Rd…., the Chair announced that the ordinance’s sponsor, Council Member Bill Bishop, had requested that this item be taken up first on the agenda; he would be in attendance to explain what the ordinance entailed and to field any questions.
There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:33 P.M.
