The Chair called the agenda meeting to order at 1:34 P.M. 

 

Philip Peterson reviewed the marked agenda that had been prepared by the Council Auditor’s Office and indicated that there were five (5) items ready for action; two (2) items being deferred; and six (6) items being seconded and re-referred.

 

On Item #3, ORD-MC 2014-470, Amend Sec 380.405 (Host Fee; Distribution Formula; Late Charge for Delinquent Pymt), Chapt 380 (Solid Waste Mgmt), Ord Code……Philip Peterson explained what the amendment entailed.

 

Though marked ready for action, Margo Klosterman indicated that the Administration had requested that Item #4, ORD 2014-526, Approp $1,250,000 by (1) Transfer ($750,000) from “Northbank Riverwalk Bulkhead” Proj to the “Liberty St Bridge Repair” Proj……be deferred.

 

On Item #5, ORD-MC 2014-553, Amend Sec. 741-107 (Violation of Zero-Tolerance for Litter Law), Chpt 741 (Zero Tolerance on Litter) Ord Code, to Increase Fines for Snipe Sign Violations…the Chair contended that we need a working definition of “snipe signs.”  The Committee Vice Chair, Council Member Lori Boyer, informed the body that there is, in fact, a definition of “snipe signs” in the Municipal Code.  It was announced that the Chair of Finance, Council Member Richard Clark, intended to defer this item at the Finance Committee Meeting the following day.  In that event, the Chair announced that he is deferring the measure, as well.

 

On Item #2014-565, RESO 2014-563, Vacating a Portion of Sweetwater Farms…Lin White explained what the propose vacation entailed.  Assistant General Counsel Sandra Stockwell provided additional explanation.

 

There being no further business, the agenda meeting was adjourned at 1:41 P.M.
